Canada, France, UK slam IDF's 'destructive campaign' in Gaza

Canadian, French, and British foreign ministers slammed the IDF's incursion into Gaza City late on Tuesday. Canada's foreign ministry called Israel's new ground offensive in Gaza City"horrific." It worsens the humanitarian crisis and jeopardizes the release of the hostages. The Government of Israel must adhere to international law. Additionally, France "strongly condemned" the operation, which it called a “destructive campaign” that “no longer has a military rationale. The French foreign ministry urged that the Gaza City offensive stop and called for an immediate resumption of negotiations for a ceasefire and hostage deal. Newly appointed UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper called the operation "utterly reckless and appalling." |
