France resumes Gaza evacuations

Image
After a three-month hiatus,   France   has resumed evacuations of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, diplomatic sources confirmed to   The Jerusalem Post   on Thursday. Done with little to no fanfare, the first of the new evacuations took place on October 26, with 20 French government scholarship holders exiting the Strip. Those permitted to exit Gaza were already on the scheduled evacuation list for August 6,   which never went ahead . These operations are being carried out under extremely difficult conditions on the ground and involve very high risks for both the evacuees and the people operating the convoys. They are also dependent on local authorizations that must be obtained in order to leave the enclave and then travel to France. The sources noted that, despite their best efforts, not all the necessary authorizations could be obtained in time for the October 26 operation, and the number of people evacuated, unfortunately, had to be reduced. However, the Fre...

Canada, France, UK slam IDF's 'destructive campaign' in Gaza

Image
Displaced Palestinians, fleeing northern Gaza due to an Israeli military operation, move southward after Israeli forces ordered residents of Gaza City to evacuate to the south, in the central Gaza Strip September 15, 2025. Canadian, French, and British foreign ministers slammed the IDF's incursion into Gaza City late on Tuesday.  Canada's foreign ministry called Israel's new ground offensive in Gaza City"horrific." It worsens the humanitarian crisis and jeopardizes the release of the hostages. The Government of Israel must adhere to international law. Additionally, France "strongly condemned" the operation, which it called a “destructive campaign” that “no longer has a military rationale.  The French foreign ministry urged that the Gaza City offensive stop and called for an immediate resumption of negotiations for a ceasefire and hostage deal.  Newly appointed UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper called the operation "utterly reckless and appalling....

Image
The   New York Knicks   have threatened to take legal action against   Zohran Mamdani   after the politician used a modified version of the Knicks logo in campaign advertisements on Wednesday, according to several American news outlets.  Representatives of the basketball team issued a cease-and-desist letter to Mamdani, a democratic socialist currently running for New York City mayor, on Friday. The  New York Post  reported that Knicks representatives suspected that the ad was likely intended to mislead the public into believing that the Campaign is affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by, or in some way connected with the Knicks.

Priest Bartolo Longo Canonized

Image
Remains of Blessed Longo (photo credit: Musumba CKate) Pope Leo  created seven new saints at a ceremony on St. Peter’s Square earlier this month, among them was a former Satanic priest.  In front of an estimated 70,000 people, Leo canonized Bartolo Longo, who had once been an occultist priest but later denounced Satan and embraced Christianity. Born in 1841, Longo was an Italian lawyer who embraced Satanism before rejoining Catholicism before his death in 1926. He founded the Pontifical Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of the Rosary of Pompeii. Before returning to the faith he was born into, the Dominican Friars Foundation claimed he went on an extreme fast, which left him severely emaciated, and he had agreed to give his soul to a demon. He had been drawn into the occult after the death of his father, and sought answers from local mediums, according to Catholic media. After being talked into rejoining the faith by Catholic Professor Vincenzo Pepe, the foundati...

Pope Leo denounces antisemitism

Image
Pope Leo XIV attends an event called 'Walking Together in Hope' to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council’s Declaration Nostra Aetate on the Church’s relations with non-Christian religions in Paul VI Hall, at the Vatican, October 28, 2025. Pope Leo XIV reaffirmed the Catholic Church’s stance against antisemitism at the Tuesday Conciliar Declaration Nostra Aetate 60th Anniversary ceremony and Wednesday general audience, commemorating a document that declared the relation of the Church with the non-Christian religion. At the Wednesday general audience at St. Peter’s Square, Pope Leo said that the first focus of the 1965 declaration was toward the Jewish world and was intended to re-establish the original relationship in which Christianity’s Jewish roots were appreciated and antisemitism denounced. Since then, all my predecessors have condemned antisemitism with clear words. And so I too confirm that the Church does not tolerate antisemitism and fights agains...

The incident, which has been previously reported and Andrew has denied, was among the details revealed in a trove of previously redacted documents. He took his own life in 2019 at age 66 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.

Deadly Disease that Devastated Napoleon's Army

Image
French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and the Grande Armee flee the pursuing Russian army on the retreat from Moscow during the Napoleonic War of the Sixth Coalition on 20th November 1812 in Russia. An etching after the original work by Adolph Northen. A new  study  involving DNA extracted from the teeth of 13 French soldiers who were buried in a mass grave in Lithuania's capital Vilnius revealed two new pathogens that may help understand why Napoleon's army was forced to retreat from Russia in 1812.  The discovery of the bacteria that cause paratyphoid fever and louse-borne relapsing fever, alongside previous work, showed that several infections had circulated among soldiers already enfeebled by cold, hunger, and exhaustion. The retreat from Russia by Napoleon Bonaparte and the French Grande Armée in 1812 was a cataclysmic event that marked the beginning of the end for his empire and personal dominance in Europe, with about 300,000 soldiers perishing in a...

New AI tool reveals your body’s true age

Image
Researchers at   Edith Cowan University   (ECU) have recently developed a new way to measure biological age and find out how old you really are, and it might not be what you’d expect.  Whilst we generally measure age as chronological, i.e., how many years since you were born, the researchers have created an AI tool called AlphaSnake, which tracks your body’s age and can be used to help spot people at risk of age-related diseases earlier. The study has been peer-reviewed and achieves 85% accuracy in predicting a person’s age. It found that the difference between a person's predicted and actual age (known as delta age) was associated with age-related health markers, such as cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

(photo credit: Saildrone) By ARH ONE ALIBI Lockheed Martin is investing $50 million in Saildrone to accelerate the deployment of armed, long-endurance unmanned surface vessels  capable of operating across all maritime domains. Saildrone USVs have been accomplishing complex maritime missions since 2013, logging over 2 million nautical missions. First deployed by the  US Navy  in 2021, they are currently operational and working alongside American Sailors in combat theaters around the world.  By integrating Lockheed Martin’s advanced defense payloads, the company’s platform will transition from intelligence and surveillance roles to lethal military applications. With our technology proven, de-risked, and mission-ready, now is the right time to augment Saildrone USVs with sophisticated payloads to meet warfighter needs. This collaboration will give Saildrone the tools we need to transform the capabilities of our platforms, to include electronic warfare, anti-submari...

USV's
